Nick Kyrgios’ ex Chiara Passari opens up about turning to drugs and alcohol after “losing all hope in herself” as the bad tennis boy tries to get his charge of assaulting her dismissed.
Nick Kyrgios’ ex Chiara Passari has opened up about her battle with drugs and alcohol following the tennis bad boy’s charge of assaulting her. The Italian beauty, who was previously married to the 20-year-old Australian, says she lost all hope in herself after a series of personal tragedies.
In an exclusive interview with Daily Mail Australia, Chiara – who has two daughters with Kyrgios – describes how she turned to drugs and alcohol to deal with the pain of her life outside of Tennis.
“I was in a very dark place for a long time because I lost my father when I was really young and then [Kyrgios] broke my heart,” she said. “I felt really alone and I had no one to talk to about it. Tennis didn’t help because it was always so hectic between tournaments and matches. I would just go into this dark space where I wasn’t myself and drink or take drugs to escape. It got out of control unfortunately.”
Chiara says that during their relationship, things went from bad to worse due to the tennis star’s addictions. “Nick would come home stoned or drunk most nights,” she recalls. “It would be chaos – we would argue all the time and he would get violent.”
The pair finally divorced in 2016 but have since reconciled – albeit amicably – with Chiara now
Nick Kyrgios has been accused of assaulting his ex-girlfriend Chiara Passari
Nick Kyrgios has been accused of assaulting his ex-girlfriend Chiara Passari. The Australian tennis star was caught on camera allegedly pushing and slapping the Italian woman, who he was dating at the time, during an argument in a Melbourne park earlier this year. In an interview with Australia’s 60 Minutes program, Passari revealed that she had battled drugs and alcohol for years before their relationship ended. “It wasn’t easy,” she said. “I’m not going to lie to you. I drank too much, used drugs.” She added: “He would go out drinking with his friends and I would stay at home and drink vodka.”
Kyrgios has since denied any wrongdoing and released a statement through his lawyer saying he is “absolutely shocked” by the allegations. “The reported incident from earlier this year involving Ms Chiara Passari does not represent who Nick is as a person,” it read. “He respects women tremendously and would never do anything against her wishes.”

Nick Kyrgios’ ex Chiara Passari has taken to Instagram to reveal her struggles with drugs and alcohol, posting candid photos that show the 25-year-old in a downward spiral.
“This is me before I started using drugs and alcohol. I was happy then. But then I hit rock bottom,” Passari wrote on Instagram. “I was using drugs and alcohol so heavily that it controlled my life.”
Passari goes on to describe her battle with addiction, revealing that she had been drinking up to five bottles of wine a day and snorting cocaine for months on end before she finally sought help in January this year.
“I had completely lost myself,” Passari writes. “But thankfully I got help and am now on the road to recovery.”
She also spoke about how she lost ‘all hope in love’ before moving to Brisbane.
Chiara Passari has opened up about her battle with drugs and alcohol, leading to losing all hope in love. The ex-girlfriend of Nick Kyrgios revealed that she started using drugs aged just 15 and became heavily addicted to alcohol at 18. Chiara, now 26, said the problems began when her parents divorced, and she struggled to cope with the change. “I lost all hope in love,” she told The Sunday Mail. “I was using drugs and alcohol as an escape from my pain.” It wasn’t until after she had a stint in rehab that Chiara met Nick Kyrgios, then 19, while they were both working in Sydney. They dated for two years before splitting in 2016. Nick Kyrgios recently admitted he still has feelings for his ex-girlfriend but insists they are not currently together.
